Adventure Garden

In partnership with the Louis Robidoux Library, the Gardens & Markets action team created the Adventure Garden. Located behind the Robidoux Library, this new community green space provides the Jurupa Valley community a place to incorporate more physical activity into their day-to-day life. The garden offers a variety of activity and learning options for the whole family, including:

  • Physical activity stencils along the walkway.
  • Early learning prompts along the walkway.
  • “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” story painted along the walkway.
  • Garden beds with a variety of plants and herbs.
  • Butterfly garden that attracts various butterfly species throughout the year.

The action team hosts a clean-up of the Adventure Garden every two months to keep the space as accessible as possible to the community.

Beautification Projects
Our school beautification projects are only possible with the help of generous volunteers. We are not professional artists, but we believe art is an integral part of the human experience that can change perception, attitude, and culture. We love working with our local schools to bring art, fun, and color to their campuses. We’d love to bring these things to your campus!

The Jurupa Valley Reads program promotes authors and increases community engagement with little free libraries throughout the City of Jurupa Valley! We seek out local authors who would love to read their books to Jurupa Valley residents! Due to COVID19, our efforts have been moved to digital, available for everyone to enjoy! If you’d like to learn about this project and future projects from the Arts & Recreation Action Team, and how you can get involved, please get in contact with us.  We’d love your participation, especially if you would like to read! Upcoming Story Walk
Healthy Jurupa Valley will host its first ever StoryWalk® event at the Adventure Garden to support local authors and promote literacy, reading, and exercise. StoryWalk® is an innovative and delightful way for children — and adults! — to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Laminated pages from a children’s book are attached to wooden stakes, which are installed along an outdoor path. As you stroll down the trail, you’re directed to the next page in the story. Our first StoryWalk® will be an event where families can come together and enjoy reading activities outdoors and are able to meet local authors.
